Rayman Legends has a new video available, showing a rhythm-based level set to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger”, only played in Mariachi form. I think I like this version better. Rayman Legends is slated for release on PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360 August 30 in Europe and September 1 in North America. Thanks, Gematsu.

The second demo for Rayman Legends, which contains the promised online portion as well as a challenge mode made up of four levels, will also include a Wii U exclusive level called Murfy’s Dungeon, Nintendo announced via a release update today. Once the title is released in September, new challenges will be added daily and weekly, and each comes with its own individual leaderboard. The demo will be available in late April, and release on PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 this fall.

Rayman Legends will help Nintendo sell more Wii U consoles, according to Ubisoft France’s Xavier Poix.

Rayman Legends has been postponed to accomodate a multi-platform release later this year, much to the dislike of series creator Michel Ancel and his team. A new rumour suggested Ancel and some select developers would be quitting Ubisoft once the game goes to market. Ubisoft has now debunked the rumour.

Rayman Legends has a new feature called Online Challenges Mode, which is expected to arrive for free in April, exclusively on the Wii U eShop. This second “demo” supports up to five players, has onlien leaderboard support, and is a consolation prize for Wii U fans who expected Rayman Legends at the console’s launch, only to weather successive delays ahead of a multiplatform release in September. Rayman creator Michael Ancel is also a bit disappointed over the delay of Rayman Legends on Wii U. Proof is in the pictures posted online of Ancel and the development team holding a sign reading: “Release Rayman. Support Ubi Montpellier,” featuring a crying Rayman. You can see the shots in question over on CVG. Ubisoft announced last week the Wii U game had been delayed in order for a simultaneous release alongside PS3 and Xbox 360. To keep fans happy while they wait, a Wii U exclusive demo will be released.

Ubisoft will provide a new, exclusive demo for Rayman Legends on Wii U. The demo is an apology of sorts for the game’s delay on the system, in order to give it a simultaneous release on all platforms. “We understand your frustration and that you want to get your hands on the game,” said the firm on its Facebook page. “We are working with the development team to provide you with a new, exclusive demo for the Wii U soon. Stay tuned for more.” Rayman Legends is to be released in September on PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360.

Rayman Legends has been delayed to secure a simship on all platforms, a representative for the publisher has said, addressing concerns that the platformer has hit a few speedbumps on its long journey to release.

Wii U demos can be restricted to a set number of plays, according to a new report over at GameZone. The eagerly-anticipated Rayman Legends demo is one example of a demo with limited play, however, these restrictions are said to be decided on a publisher basis, and are not a blanket Nintendo policy. Rayman Legends will be published in Japan by Nintendo in spring 2013, Ubisoft has announced. The game is available in demo form through the eShop in both Europe and North America. Rayman Legends is out February 26 in North America, February 28 in Europe, and March 1 in the UK. The launch trailer for the demo is below.

Rayman Legends will release in the UK in March, Ubisoft has announced, but you can get your hands on a partial version of the game when the demo launches on December 13. Rayman Legends features multiplayer and takes advantage of the Wii U controller by implementing touch–based gameplay, allowing players to navigate through the game. Rayman Legends is out March 1 in the UK, and February 28 in Europe. It’s out February 26 in North America.
