Punch Out!! Wii challenges detailed, may contain spoliers

NintendoPad has the low-down on challenges faced when Punch Out!!, which is due for Wii release on May 18.
If you’re the type who likes to remain surprised, don’t take a peek below the break. It tells you a bit more than just how many boxers you will face off against.
Thanks, GoNintendo.

ESRB reveals rating and extra details for Punch Out Wii

You have to love it when the ESRB provides information on games before publishers do: today it did just that with Punch Out!! for Wii.
The listing describes it thus:
This is a boxing game in which players compete in boxing matches against a cast of colorful, fictional characters. While players can use standard boxing moves (jabs, hooks, uppercuts), most fights are performed in a comical fashion with an assortment of “dizzy stars,” “cartoony” sound effects, and slapstick signature moves (e.g., growling, dropping shorts, conking oneself on the head, twirling, etc.). Boxers’ faces show lumps and bruises after taking damage, and some knockouts are depicted in slow motion as players are sent flying across the canvass. One character flexes his pectoral and glute muscles prior to a fight, while another boxer belches during a cutscene.
We’ve put a call into Nintendo for release date information, so hopefully soon we’ll have more details.
The game was revealed during Nintendo’s press conference last October. Next Level’s the developer.
Thanks, GoNintendo.

Punch-Out!! Wii rumoured for E3
According to this N-Europe report, a Wii version of Punch-Out!! is being rumoured for E3 by Brit mag NGamer. It’s going to use the Balance Board, apparently, but aside from that there are no other details there: you’ll just have to wait.
If this and Animal Crossing get announced, there’s going to be a scene reminiscent to the bit in The Day After Tomorrow when the giant tidal wave drowns Manhattan, except it’ll be in LA and it’ll be a tsunami of fanboy semen.
Picture it. Go on.
