Sony handing out codes for sneak peek at PSP Comic Service

Comics will not made available through the digital PSP store until next month, but those who downloaded firmware 6.20 can still get a preview of what’s to come.
Over on the PlayStation Comics website, there are codes to download two different comics: Americans get the first issue of Transformers: All Hail Megatron; Europeans get the first issue of Aleister Arcane.
Each one eats up about 40Mb of space, in case that’s the sort of thing you take into consideration.

PSP Comic Service to support major Japanese manga publishers

Come December, the Japanese PlayStation Store will be updated with new content from major manga publishers, with titles like Bleach, Evangelion, Detective Conan, Fullmetal Alchemist and many more.
Over in Japan, publishers ASCII Media Works, Bandai Visual, Enterbrain, Fujimi Shobo, Futabasha, Hakusensha, Kadokawa Group, Kodansha, Shogakukan, Shueisha and Square Enix are high rollers in the manga industry, and this news should please many fans in the country.
For now, in the US, Marvel is the only bit of comic heading to the PSP service until more are added.

GamesCom: Videos for Digital Reader and PSP Minis

Sony has released videos for both the Digital Reader and PSP minis.
We have both posted after the break courtesy of Joystiq.
For now, the Digital Reader is for comics only, but who knows what the future holds. Digital copies of Wuthering Heights, The Doppelganger or Atonement may not be just a pipe dream folks. We’ll have to wait and see.
Minis are expected to launch with the Go on October 1. Yay.
Watch on.

Sony to launch digital comics for PSP in Japan by end of the year

A digital comic book store is scheduled to land on PSP later this year in Japan.
You may recall that back in March, Sony sent out a survey to gauge interest in the service.
It must have like the feedback because it’s happening, and will compatible with all PSP SKUs.
No word on when the service will hit Europe or the states, but if it does well in Japan, it would not be out of character for Sony to offer it elsewhere.
More over on Exophase.
