PS3 Firmware 2.53 available now
Sony’s released Firmware 2.53 for PS3: we’re downloading as we type.
The update caused a bit of a kerfuffle last week with what appears to have been an erroneous post from SCEA and some good old gun-jumping from the internet, but it’s there now. So relax.
The software gives full-screen Flash support to your machine, and “Live movie (using RTMP format) playability,” according to this US PS Blog post.

PS3 Firmware 2.53 to release tomorrow, includes full-screen Flash support
According to this PlayStation.com page, PS3 Firmware 2.53′s to release tomorrow, and it looks like a biggie. There’s full details through the link.
Stand-out features include full-screen Flash support for web browsing and the ability to let the machine turn itself off after a background download.
