This Japanese commercial for the Vita TV tracks the daily life of one family over the course of decades as their living room habits change and evolve; it puts a pretty strong emphasis on the TV as something whole families can share, which makes Sony’s new device seem pretty attractive.

PS Vita TV is already out in Japan and is said to be enjoying modest sales. PlayStation’s European boss Andrew House has stressed that the device is still coming to the west, but that it’ll take a “different road to market.”

God Eater 2 debuted on top of the Media Create charts with 266,326 units sold, giving PS Vita a much needed hardware boost and making it the second best selling system for the week. Call of Duty: Ghosts debuted in second with 190,631 units sold on PS3 and the Xbox 360 version cam in at number 13 with 12,950 units sold putting the total at 203,58.
PS Vita TV also debuted this week coming in third behind 3DS LL, and Vita, respectively. Full report below.

Though this video is in Japanese without subtitles, it is still a video that shows the features of the PS Vita TV so you should be OK no matter what language you know best. That said, many of the terms they use are English words, so that also might help. But if you have lingering questions about this device, seeing it used should help answer them.

PS Vita TV is geared towards the Japanese market for the time being, but Sony’s President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida has asked gamers to “stay tuned” on the matter.
