Nintendo Gamer magazine to no longer be published, says Future
Another Nintendo-branded magazine has been culled from the fold: today, Future Publishing announced it would discontinue its independent magazine, Nintendo Gamer. “After careful consideration we’ve taken the decision to close Nintendo Gamer magazine,” publisher Lee Nutter told CVG. “However, with Future’s ongoing strategy to drive digital growth across its international, digitally-focussed brand business, the website, Nintendo-Gamer.net will continue as excitement builds ahead of Nintendo’s Wii U launch.” Nintendo Gamer’s first issue was releases in 2006 and as of 2011, net circulation was 7,745. Official Nintendo Magazine will still be published. Thanks, GI International.

Nintendo Power ends with December issue
Nintendo Power’s last issue will arrive in mail boxes in December, Nintendo has announced. It was revealed yesterday the magazine would no longer be circulated, and while reports suggest Future US is hoping a digital-only version can be produced instead, Nintendo hasn’t commented on whether that will be the case or not. Unless the firm changes it’s mind, look for the final issue to hit stands and your postal box later this year. Thanks, Nintendo Life.
