Portal 2′s robo-chums Atlas and P-Body were being made into figurines over a year ago by manufacturer ThreeA, and then quietly fell off the radar. Fret not, as they’re still in development and recently popped up at a toy convention.

Anonymous NASA engineer sends Portal 2 reference to spaaaaaaaace
Without giving any spoilers, those who’ve finished Portal 2 should check out this post on the game’s blog which details the efforts of an anonymous NASA engineer in laser-engraving a tribute to Valve’s puzzler on an ISS re-supply vessel. This is adorable, but does not have NASA’s official sanction, so we may never know who is responsible.

Fans vote yes on Portal 2 LEGO set
After receiving over 10,000 votes from fans, it looks as though a Portal 2-themed LEGO set has been sent for review to the LEGO committee. The votes were tallied through CuuSoo, LEGO’s crowd-sourcing portal. Granted, it’s not a given it will be produced, but think how cool that would be? Steam for Schools initiative announced, educators given Portal 2 for class purposes
During the Games for Change conference, Valve announced it will give away Portal 2 for free, via the new Steam for Schools initiative. Educators which sign up for the beta which also recoeve the Perpetual Testing Initiative level maker so students can create Portal levels in the classroom – but they won’t be able to share said levels outside of class. Portal 2 Move support and level pack releasing on PS3 later this year
Portal 2 In Motion is a new DLC pack for Portal 2 which is slated for PS3 later this year and contains levels originally available for the Razer Hydra controller. It will be compatible with Move, of course. More on The Verge.

Perpetual Testing Initiative now available for Portal 2
Valve has announced the free Portal 2 update, Perpetual Testing Initiative, is now available on PC and Mac. The DLC allows players to “easily create, share, and play Portal 2 puzzles,” via the in-game Puzzle Maker. Log into Steam and get to downloading.

Portal 2 sells 4 million units combined on PC and console
Valve has announced Portal 2 has sold over 4 million copies combined on PC and console since it was released a year ago. The figure was provided to Neogamr by level designer David Sawyer. The entire franchise has now sold over 8 million total, with the original Portal game selling over 4 million units – a figured which doesn’t take into account Steam sales. Thanks, Gamasutra.

Video preview demonstrates in-game editor for Portal 2
A video preview of the Perpetual Testing Initiative DLC for Portal 2 has been released by Steam user Doogiehoogie. It’s posted below. The DLC allows users to create, share, and play Portal 2 puzzles using the puzzle maker. Users can then publish maps to the Steam Workshop so that others can browse, vote on, and select to play them. Selected puzzles will automatically be downloaded and installed inside Portal 2. It releases on PC and Mac May 8.

Portal 2 Perpetual Testing gets humorous trailer
GTTV’s aired the first trailer for the Perpetual Testing DLC for Portal 2. The trailer features a voiceover from JK Simmons as Cave Johnson – at least, it could be: we reckon it might be a soundalike. Still funny, mind.

Valve has announced its free, Portal 2 DLC titled Perpetual Testing Initiative will be available for the PC and Mac on May 8. It allows users to “easily create, share, and play,” Portal 2 puzzles and comes with a simplified puzzle maker which allows users to create content without leaving the game. Users can publish maps to the Steam Workshop where users can “browse, vote on, and select to play them.” Selected puzzles will automatically be downloaded and installed inside Portal 2.
