New Super Mario Bros. 2 will launch on 3DS in Europe on August 17, two days prior to its US release on August 19. New Super Mario Bros. 2 features a strong focus on Mario’s iconic gold coins; it seems it is all about the money, after all.

Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, a new 3DS title in the popular, long-running puzzle series is also incoming, with the news that it will feature a new free puzzle every day for 350 days after launch. At first we thought Pokemon Adventure Camp had something to do with the event of the same name which took place at GuilFest in Surrey last year; however, as Siliconera points out, the trademark was filed by Nintendo, the Nintendo-exclusive game developer Game Freak, and Nintendo subsidiary Creatures, Inc. Whole ‘otta Nintendo going on with this, isn’t there? Furthermore, the site points out it’s a game trademark, not a festival trademark, so if this pans out, we could be looking at another Pokemon game in our future. [image]

Nintendo has announced the latest Pokemon as Meloetta, a genderless Melody Pokemon which will appear in the next Pokemon movie. This is the third Pokemon to be announced for Black 2 and White 2 after Keldeo, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem which brings the total number of Pokemon to 648 entries. Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 are set for a fall release in the US and Europe after being announced over the weekend after first teasing it on Pokemon Smash. Thanks, D’toid.

Siliconera reports Pokémon director Junichi Masuda has hinted a new game announce may happen soon. Speaking to fans at a Q&A event, and later following up on Twitter, the developer said those keen to hear about ne games should watch Pokémon Smash, a weekly Japanese TV show. No announcement was made during Sunday’s episode. Despite Gamefreak’s protestations, several signs point at an upcoming Pokémon Gray followup to 2011′s Black and White, possibly for 3DS.

A Japanese magazine is carrying a tease of an upcoming Pokémon game announce.

Andriasang has word that Japanese magazine Jump is teasing an upcoming exclusive revealed related to Pokémon at its Jump Festa event.

“Pokemon makes first appearance at JF!! Surprising information on the show floor?” the magazine’s blurb said, along with mention of a “big surprise” at the booth.

Jump Festa takes place on December 17 and 18 in Chiba, Tokyo. The most recent major Pokémon release was Black & White for DS.
