Adorable limited edition Pokémon Eevee 3DS XL announced for Japan
An Eevee Edition of 3DS XL has been announced for Japan for release in the Pokémon Centres across he region. It will only be available through a lottery, and applications are being taken now through June 3, according to Serebii. Those who are lucky enough to win the draw, will then be able to purchase the handhled for ¥18,900 ($185) come June 22. Sorry importers willing to spend what would likely be thousands for it on eBay, the system is region locked.

Nintendo of America’s official Pokémon Twitter made an interesting comment on Twitter overnight, promising “exciting news for Pikachu fans coming up tomorrow”. AllGamesBeta suspects the Pikachu-themed 3DS XL may be making its way to North America, and after looking at the teaser image, it certainly seems possible.

Pokémon Black and White 2 titles have moved over 7.5 million worldwide
Nintendo revealed total worldwide sales for a select number of titles in its Q3 earnings report this morning. According to the firm’s figures, the best-seller for the period was Pokémon Black and White 2 with 7.63 million units sold. The DS title was followed by New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS for 5.96 million, Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS with 2.73 million sold in Japan-only, New Super Mario Bros. U on Wii U with 2.01 million, and Nintendo Land sold with Wii U moving 2.33 million. The next title on the Pokémon docket is Pokémon X and Pokémon Y for 3DS, slated for release in October. Pokémon parody game draws gamer attention to PETA
PETA has put together a Pokémon parody game in which Pikachu must throw off the chains of enslavement and make a bid for freedom. You can check it out here but be warned; it’s actually a little bit confronting, even though the creatures in question clearly do not exist. The animal rights activist group used Mario’s Tanooki suit and “Super Tofu Boy” in a similar parody-game campaigns to draw attention to its more serious real-world activities.
