New Pokémon X and Pokémon Y screens, information, and trailer has been released by Nintendo, showing off the Kalos region; its many towns to explore; people to meet; and never-before-seen Pokémon to encounter. Players will also meet new Gym Leaders to challenge and collect Gym Badges from as they travel throughout Kalos.

Pokémon X & Y has received a quintet – that’s five – new screens, showing off bird-type Fletchling and more. You can now see your trainer’s hand when hurling a Pokéball, and there’s also a shot of the new Pokédex too.

Pokemon X & Y publisher Nintendo has announced a brand-new creature for its incoming 3DS titles. It’s called Sylveon, a Pokemon that evolves from Eevee. It confirms rumours that appeared earlier this week about an Eevee variant called ‘Ninfia’ – which is the creature’s Japanese name. We’ve got screens and a trailer of Sylveon below the cut.

Nintendo revealed total worldwide sales for a select number of titles in its Q3 earnings report this morning. According to the firm’s figures, the best-seller for the period was Pokémon Black and White 2 with 7.63 million units sold. The DS title was followed by New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS for 5.96 million, Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS with 2.73 million sold in Japan-only, New Super Mario Bros. U on Wii U with 2.01 million, and Nintendo Land sold with Wii U moving 2.33 million. The next title on the Pokémon docket is Pokémon X and Pokémon Y for 3DS, slated for release in October. Pokemon X & Y were announced for an October 3DS launch yesterday in a furore that made our site’s traffic stats blow up – almost literally. If you missed the announcement, screens and trailer then go here first. The Pokemon Company has since explained why the game is coming to Nintendo’s handheld, rather than Wii U.

Pokemon was the focus of Nintendo’s latest instalment of Nintendo Direct, hosted by president Satoru Iwata. During the stream he presented a debut trailer for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, two 3DS titles coming to the handheld this October. Check out what happened here.
