Nintendo eShop North American update: Pokémon X & Y leads the week along with Devil Survivor Overclocked
Nintendo has updated the North American end of its eShop, and even though Pokémon X & Y doesn’t release until October 12, it is still the big ticket item for the week. To hold you over until then, you can always download Shin Megami Tensei : Devil Survivor Overclocked, Super Black Bass 3D, or some of the other offerings listed below.

Pokémon X & Y pre-orders in Japan have exceeded 1.26 million, according to Media Create, making the titles the highest pre-ordered 3DS games in Japan, ever.

Pokémon X was the target of several leaks this week, which apparently attracted the attention of Nintendo. The leaker has since has all of their spoilers pulled and has stated that they were visited by company representative who then confiscated the game.

The special edition Pokémon X and Pokémon Y 3DS XL systems are now available in North American stores. The handhelds feature the likenesses of legendary Pokémon Xerneas from X and legendary Pokémon Yveltal from Y. You can pick them up in either red or blue for $199.99 each. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y releases worldwide on October 12.

Another creature for Pokemon X and Y has been revealed, and it’s the evolution of Honedge. Called Doublade, it’s a Steel/Ghost-type Pokemon can telepathically coordinate its two blades to deliver a double slicing whammy. Nintendo has revealed two new fossil Pokémon for X & Y, which launches exclusively on 3DS on October 12. Both new additions can be acquired from restoring fossils, and you’ll only be able to choose either Tyrunt or Amaura during a single playthrough. Tyrunt is a Rock/Dragon type that looks like a T-rex, while Amaura is a Rock/Ice type which looks a little like a brachiosaur. A Pokémon X & Y commercial has started airing in North America and it feature kid in their early teens discussing their Pokémon dreams. It’s below courtesy of AGB. The game is also getting a four week giveaway promotion in the US called “Gotta Catch ‘Em All”. You can read more about that through here. The Pokémon Company is teasing a “special announcement” for Monday, September 16 at 8am PDT/11am EDT. The announcement of an announcement was posted to Twitter, and picked up by Siliconera. At least this gives you something to look forward to on Monday as you get up early, make yourself presentable, and have to deal with traffic on your way to the start of another week of work. We’ve no idea what the “surprise” could be – but there’s a lot of new stuff going in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y so there’s no telling, really. We’ll be sure to let you know what it is once we hear something ourselves.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y has a new trailer showing the evolved forms of starter Pokémon, Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. Both Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y can be seen in today’s trailer as well. Other new Pokémon revealed today include Mega Garchomp, new Pokémon that have a male and female form, like Meowstic, and one Pokémon players can customize, Furfrou.

Nintendo will be hosting a Pokemon Direct session on September 4 in which company president Satoru Iwata will be discussing Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. As usual, the session will be streamed through Nintendo Direct. Pokémon X & Y arrives on 3DS worldwide on October 12.
