Meloetta will be available to Australian and New Zealand gamers two weeks ahead of previously announced retail distribution plans. To grab the special Pokémon, purchase a ticket to see Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice at a select number of Hoyts Cinema on February 23 or 24. Nintendo Australia has announced its getting in on Meloetta madness. Fans who visit select retailers with their DS or 3DS and a copy of and of the Pokémon Black & White games between March 4 and April 19 will be offered the chance to grab the powerful Pokémon. In Australia, EB Games and Target are participating, while New Zealanders will need to visit JB Hi-Fi. A list of participating outlets is available here.

Nintendo revealed total worldwide sales for a select number of titles in its Q3 earnings report this morning. According to the firm’s figures, the best-seller for the period was Pokémon Black and White 2 with 7.63 million units sold. The DS title was followed by New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS for 5.96 million, Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS with 2.73 million sold in Japan-only, New Super Mario Bros. U on Wii U with 2.01 million, and Nintendo Land sold with Wii U moving 2.33 million. The next title on the Pokémon docket is Pokémon X and Pokémon Y for 3DS, slated for release in October. Pokémon Black & White 2 were the best-selling games in Japan during 2012, Media Create has revealed via it Top-30 of 2012 chart. The Nintendo titles were followed by Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and New Super Mario Bros. 2, respectively. The tracking retail firm also listed the best-selling hardware in the country to-date, and the clear winner was PlayStation 2 with 21,833,215 units sold. The local arm of Nintendo has confirmed Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 will release in Australia and New Zealand on October 11. The DS titles are playable on 3DS, and will be supported by Pokémon Dream Radar, a 3DS eShop release of the same date allowing players to collect Pokémon for transfer to the core game. The RPG sequels have already sold 2.3 million units in Japan and arrive in the US on October 7 and in Europe on October 12.

Media Create has released its weekly retail chart for Japan, and Pokemon Black & White 2 continued to dominate software with 181,756 units sold. Vita feel back into its usual third place spot with 11,544 units sold compared with the previous week’s 22,638 units. However, hardware was down or flat across the board.
