Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will launch with day-one DLC. It’s Raiden’s Metal Gear Solid 4 armor, and you can pick it up for $1.99 or your country’s equivalent on PS3 and Xbox 360. The game releases next week in North America on February 19, in Europe on February 21 and in the UK on February 22. A video of the armor is below.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has received – you guessed it – another new trailer in the run up to its February 22nd launch here in Europe. The clip focuses on the Desperado Elite, the band of badass soldiers that Raiden will face throughout the game’s plot.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance developer Platinum Games has confirmed that the full release of its brutal hack-n-slash romp will feature an ‘easy assist mode’ that was added at the last minute. It’s not available in any of the demos released by Konami so far, so it should provide some small solace to those who found parrying to be a total bastard. As it happens, the mode will semi-parry for you.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will offer downloadable missions, Dengeki PlayStation reports. According to Siliconera‘s translation, DLC will include VR missions – a franchise staple – as well as side-stories about other characters. It’s not clear if this means you’ll be able to play as someone besides Raiden. No date or pricing details were given, and western release has not been confirmed. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has received its final US pack art and contents, thanks to a promotional image released by Konami. The box contains a plasma lamp replica of Raiden’s high frequency blade, a steelbook box, the game’s soundtrack and the game itself, naturally.

Bayonetta will be made available through PSN next week, SEGA has announced. Everyone’s favorite witch can be yours on January 29 for $19.99 in the US and in Europe on January 30 for £11.99/€14.99/AU$23.95. The game is already available on Xbox Live.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance now has a demo on both Xbox Live and PSN. To go along with their release, Konami has published three ‘overview’ trailers outlining Raiden’s attacks, the Zandatsu (‘cut and take’) mechanic and the game’s locations. Check them out below.

PS3 users will also be able to download the trial tomorrow via the usual PSN update. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance hits PS3 and Xbox 360 February 19 in the US and February 22 in Europe.
