Project Awakened devs polling fans on whether to continue crowdfunding endeavor

project awakened 030913

Project Awakened ‘s Kickstarter campaign fell short of its $500,000 goal earlier this week, but Phosphor Games isn’t giving up completely. Today, Joystiq noticed a poll on the official website, which asks participants whether they would be game for another round of crowdfunding. The firm is considering a direct PayPal account, along with the possibility of continuing “to work on the project in our spare time,” as it previously stated. Phosphor said it will announce its plans moving forward on March 13.

Project Awakened Kickstarter ends well short of goal

20130307_project_awakened

Project Awakened has not, in fact, stirred from its slumber. The independent games crowdfunding campaign closed today with $338,498 in pledges from 6,287 backers. Despite the generosity of its supporters, with an average pledge of over $50, that’s just 67% of its $500,000 goal, meaning developer Phosphor Games will receive nothing at all. It’s a sad result for a promising concept with so much history, but Phosphor has said it will just keep plugging away whenever it has time.

Horn arrives on App Store, here’s what it looks like

20120817_horn

Horn has launched on iDevice, and is available from the App Store for $7 or regional equivalent. This is interesting for a couple of reasons; firstly, because it’s the latest from The Dark meadow developer Phosphor Games, and secondly, it’s the first release from Zynga’s Partners for Mobile publishing platform. Finally, it looks super sweet, with full 3D navigation through the environments. Hit the break to see some screenshots. An Android release is promised soon, if you’ve got one of those new-fangled Tegras.

Horn is the next iOS effort from Dark Meadow dev

20120627horn

Phosphor Games has detailed its next mobile gaming effort, a fantasy adventure called Horn. According to IGN‘s hands-on report, the third-person action game is fully navigable and explorable, unlike the on-rails experience offered by similarly beautiful rival Infinity Blade. The screens look pretty damn shiny and so does the commitment to pure tap controls – no virtual buttons. Phosphor’s last release, Dark Meadow, garnered plenty of fans, so keep an eye out for Horn; no release date has ben announced.

Awakened

Is it morbid fascination with the deceased Midway and its not-quite-swansong Hero that makes us so interested in Awakened? Not, it’s that is sounds bloody brilliant. Two trailers have turned up, in their rough-and-ready pre-alpha state, and you may gaze on them through the jump.

awakened

With Midway Chicago being sold to Warner, the team behind the open-world action game Hero lost all assets, code, art and everything else pertaining to it in the process.
