Console wars may be fun for fanboys and girls, and annoying to some; but in all it’s good for the industry, thinks EA’s Peter Moore. So much so, that if Microsoft and Sony weren’t duking it out at retail, there would only be one console powerhouse – which would not be a good thing for EA.

During E3, EA held and investor’s meeting during which COO Peter Moore said the firm will be “aggressively getting after the preorder business” and will be also be focusing more on DLC as it provides a better average revenue per user allowing the company to get “$70, $80 or $90 from that customer,” in total after spending the initial $60 for a game.

EA has once again taken home the title of Worst Company in America, after winning a consumer poll posted by The Consumerist. The win came despite a heartfelt letter issued by EA COO Peter Moore over the weekend, which was countered by a Consumerist analysis which said consumers were tired of EA’s focus on “microtransactions, online passes” and asked it to prove the ire this year was brought on by the Madden cover athlete and conservative groups upset over the publisher’s support of LGBT issues.

During the publisher’s annual general meeting, via MCV, EA chairman Larry Probst assured shareholders that there are “absolutely no plan to replace John Riccitiello as CEO”. The issue was raised in a Q&A session after rumours broke earlier in the month that Peter Moore was set to take over the executive’s role. EA’s fluctuating share price was cause for some speculation of a management shake up, but Probst was adamant that EA’s board remains confident in Riccitiello.
