Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold was released in Japanese arcades today, and a YouTube user has already posted the opening clip. Developed by Arc System Works, the sequel to Persona 4 Arena will be release on PS3 in Japan during summer 2014. A western release has not been announced. Thanks, Gematsu.

The PlayStation Store has these “Ultimate Edition” bundles that give you a base game and all its DLC for a discounted price. This week, they’re putting out ten new Ultimate Editions, and they’re making them even cheaper than they normally would. Plus subscribers get a better discount, as usual. Full list inside.

Arc System Works, creators of such games as BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Guilty Gear and Persona 4: Arena is holding a 25th anniversary bash called Arc System Works Festival – or ‘ArcFes’ – in Yokohama, Japan. The festivities kick off May 19.

Atlus’s parent company Index Corporation has posted a large loss as part of its Q2 financial report. The Japanese firm has enjoyed a great deal of sales success stories recently, but it hasn’t been enough to reverse the slump.

Persona 4 Arena will finally be arriving in Europe on May 10, and if you live in the UK and pre-order it from GAME, you will get a 12-inch vinyl copy of the soundtrack. Seriously. That’s one of the better pre-order incentives ever.

Registrations are now being accepted for the Evo 2013 championships which take place at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino in Nevada. You can pick up your pass through the website, which details each price package. The championships will be held on the weekend of July 12, with the main event being held at the Bally’s Event Center and Grand Ballroom. Games included in the championships are: Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, Street Fighter X Tekken 2013 Edition, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat, The King of Fighters 13, Persona 4 Arena, and Super Smash Bros. Persona 4: Golden and its Vita port sold 260,000 units in Japan since released on June 14, Index Corporation reported in its latest financials. The firm expects sales to jump even higher when Persona 4: Golden arrives in the states next month. Sales for Persona 4 Arena also exceed the firm’s expectations, moving 220,000 copies. Overall, Index Corporation, which holds a majority stake in Atlus, reported ¥447 million in net profit, or approximately $5.64 million. Thanks, Siliconera.

Atlus has said it’s looking to lag issues being reported by Persona 4 Arena players in Japan. According to a blog post on the game’s website, Altus said Xbox 360 users could be experiencing lag due to greater-than-expected numbers of people on the servers. Staff are looking into fixing the issues, and in the meantime have suggested a workaround. PS3 users don’t seem to be having any issues at present. The game is out in the US on August 7 and in Europe on August 31. Thanks, Andriasang.

Shoryuken.com‘s posted up a new bunch of Persona 4 Arena shots, showing off the incoming fighter’s Story, Lesson, Challenge and Network modes. It’s out this week in Japan for 360 and PS3; in the US on August 7; and in the EU on August 31. There’s a ton of content in here: apparently, the Story mode lasts for 30-40 hours.
