Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4 is less linear, has more strategy options

penny arcade epsiode 4

Zeboyd Games has said Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4 will be less linear with more secrets and “secondary routes to the main dungeons,” said the firm’s Robert Boyd in an interview conducted with IGN. Boyd said a number of “adjustments, both small and not so small,” have also been made so players will feel compelled to try more strategies as the game progresses. The forth installment of the game is slated for PC and XBLI in the spring for $4.99. Thanks, Shack.

PAX Australia issues new round of ticketing

20120918_pax_aus

PAX Australia has expanded its capacity in response to popular demand, securing a new exhibition space and issuing more tickets. Although individual day passes were still available, Saturday was completely sold out, making it difficult for those hoping to attend the whole show to grab tickets. The new Saturday passes are already running low so if you’re thinking of attending the Melbourne event this July get on board immediately.

Thanks, MCV Pacific.

PAX Australia 2013 social sites open

20120918_pax_aus

Keen on checking out PAX Australia when Penny Arcade’s famous expo heads down under next year? Organisers have set up a Facebook and Twitter page to help hopeful attendees track updates. Details like date, venue and even host city are still to be announced – hell, PAX Australia was announced just a few weeks ago – but if tickets sell as quickly as those for the US events, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on these sites.

Penny Arcade considering third PAX in Austin

20120717pennyarcade

During a panel at San Diego Comic Con, as reported by Gamespot, Penny Arcade’s Mike “Gabe” Krahulik told the audience that the company is “aggressively exploring a third PAX” close to Austin, Texas. Austin already hosts a number of gaming events and is something of a development hotseat; a local event would join PAX Prime in Seattle and PAX East in Boston. You can watch the whole panel through the break.

Penny Arcade Adventures 3 delayed

20120612rainslick

The PC version of Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 is due on July 25 – not July 10 as previously reported, apparently – but the Xbox Live Indie Games launch has been pushed back. Write Jerry “Tycho” Holkins confirmed the game failed community peer review due to a crash error if you pull out an Xbox memory unit while saving. Is that a thing people do? Okay. The game will go back into testing next week. Mobile and Mac releases remain undated.

Thanks, Joystiq.

PAX Prime registration open next week

20120426pax

With PAX East done and dusted, Penny Arcade has announced the first details of PAX Prime ahead of this year’s Seattle event. The Washington State Convention Center is playing host again, but some events will be spread across nearby venues – the Annex, Paramount, Seattle Sheraton and Grand Hyatt, for example. Registration opened temporarily, but is now expected next week after a quick vendor change, and Penny Arcade also hopes to launch its hotel scheme soon, so don’t be alarmed if everything is booked out. PAX Prime takes place from August 31 through September 2.

PAX East organizers have tweeted that there are less than 1,000 badges available for Saturday, so if you are planning on attending, you need to hurry up and get your badge. PAX East runs April 6-8 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Last year, 69,500 people attended the weekend event, which this year happens, unfortunately for some, to fall on Easter Weekend.
