Tomb Raider PC patch addresses Nvidia hardware issues, boat bug
The PC version of Tomb Raider has been patched with a number of important updates. Most importantly, Crystal Dynamics has rolled out a handful of fixes for Nvidia and Intel hardware and fixed a bug in a later missions which prevented progress for some players. Less vital but still much appreciated, it’s also added X-axis inversion and separate invert settings for control pads versus mouse and keyboard set ups, and rectified issues with fullscreen. Interestingly, Crystal Dynamics has made a “beta” version of the un-patched game available to those who’d prefer to stick to the old version; visit the patch notes for details on how to access it.
Thanks, PCGamesN.

Full patch notes are available direct from Naughty Dog, but as fascinating as they are, the developer’s comment that the patch sets the game up for “biggest update to Uncharted 3 Multiplayer yet” is particularly interesting. This second update apparently drops tomorrow. I wonder what it could be? Hem hem.

EVE Online patched to rebalance Tier 1 ships
CCP has patched EVE Online, overhauling the user interface and module system, adding the skill Armor Honeycombing, and enacting some art tweaks. That’s all well and good, but the update also rebalances nine more Tier 1 ships, so expect the usual roars of outrage over nerfing and overpowered buffing. Full patch notes are available on the EVE Online community site.

Guild Wars 2 patch to address irregular loot drops issue
MMO players are always complaining that they don’t get enough decent loot drops, but it looks like Guild Wars 2 fans were correct. In a forum post, ArenaNet said it had investigated complaints and believes its found the cause of the issue, and will correct it in the game’s next major patch, due later this month. You’ll still receive fewer drops than in gear-focused MMOs, but ArenaNet is also making certain areas of the game more rewarding, equipment-wise.
Thanks, Massively.

ArmA 2 mod DayZ has been patched, adding a ton of new features. There’s a collection of weapons and food, two new vehicles and the ability to catch viruses and flip ATVs (good luck with that, Dan), for example. Zombies can now damage your vehicle, pull you from it, or even spawn inside unoccupied vehicles, and will be attracted by the sound of trees being felled. Plus a huge pile of fixes; full patch notes are available on the DayZ forums, where incidentally you’ll also find plenty of people chatting about the first DayZ standalone release footage.
