EA inserts class-action prevention clause into Origin EULA

Like Sony before it, EA has added a clause to its Origin EULA which would keep users from bringing a class-action suit against the firm. The updated terms-of-service agreement, once accepted by the participant foregoes the right to sue and have a jury trial, allowing only individual cases to be brought against it. Like Sony’s agreement, the Origin agreement includes an opt-out clause which much be submitted to EA in writing. You can thank AT&T and the Supreme Court for this.

Origin EULA revised with data collection for marketing purposes nixed

EA has revised its EULA for Origin, and has removed the bits about using data collected for marketing, but in the end it will still collect your system data and there isn’t an opt out option available.

Origin end-user agreement doesn’t allow you to opt out of data collection

A user over on The Escapist Forums has read over the end-user license agreement for EA’s Origin, and has found that the service doesn’t allow users to opt out of system information collection, nor data mining.
