Microsoft has responded to tonight’s NPD figures for March 2010, stating that the company has maintained its hardware and software sales momentum, as it readies its guns for “some the biggest entertainment experiences of the year” at E3 in June.

NPD’s Anita Frazier revealed her industry analysis for March 2010 that God of War III has bested the launch of it’s predecessor, God of War II, by 32 percent.

NPD has released the sales figures for the month of March 2010, and the analysis done by Anita Fraizer shows industry sales totaling $1.52 billion, which is up 6 percent for the year.
Overall, the US industry was in decline by 7 percent, with total sales reaching an estimated $3.96B.

Looks like God of War III was tops for March, selling approximately 1.1 million units, with Pokemon Soul Silver coming in second on DS with 1.02M units moved.
