SCEA: There may be a PS3 retail shortage in the coming months

Pachter: Wii shortage contributed to $30M industry decline in January
Michael Pachter has weighed-in on the NPD figures released last night, and says that the industry decline can be attributed to a shortage of Nintendo hardware.

NPD: Nintendo systems retain top positions in January sales
Nintendo has responded to last night’s NPDs and it was very pleased that Wii was the number one selling console for January.

Crackdown 2 for June was listed “incorrectly”, says Microsoft
During the release of the NPDs last night, Microsoft sent a mail out responding to the figures, and in it, it said Crackdown 2 would be released in June.
Well, apparently, that’s not the case.

Tretton: ’09 a “great success” for PlayStation
SCEA boss Jack Tretton has put live the company’s NPD response for January on the US PS Blog, saying 2009 was a “great success” for PlayStation.

NPD January 2010: NSMBW tops Mass Effect 2 on software charts
NPD has released the software figures for January 2010, and it looks like New Super Mario Bros. Wii beat out Mass Effect 2 by around 84K units, with 656.7K units sold.
However, you have to take into consideration that Mass Effect 2 was only out for six days in January, so those are still fantastic numbers.
