More Guitar Hero and Call of Duty for next year, says Activision
Activision confirmed in it’s Q3 financial results last week that we will see new Guitar Hero and Call of Duty games next year.
We have a winner for the “no shit sherlock” tag.
The COD game will assumingly be under Treyarch, with possible plans to head to Vietnam in the next game. As for Guitar Hero 6, your guess is as good as ours.
The publisher also announced new Spiderman and Shrek games to be released next year.
Thanks, Kotaku.

Bowling: Wii not able to “deliver” IW’s “cinematic experience”
A worthy winner of the “no shit Sherlock” tag, a story posted by Develop has Infinity Ward’s Rob Bowling saying Wii isn’t up to delivering tech parity with the likes of PS3 and 360.
“If we felt like we could deliver the cinematic experience we were going for on other platforms, then we would gladly move to that platform,” he said.
“Right now, we don’t think the Wii can deliver the exact experience that we’re doing. We like to be very equal across all platforms, and if it’s not equal then we won’t do it.”

Games industry doesn’t understand Twitter, says Mika

Dev vet Mike Mika has told Develop that the games industry doesn’t get Twitter. We think it’s actually time to put the “no shit Sherlock” tag into proper action.
“In boardrooms across the world, people are using Facebook and Twitter as a buzzword rather than really understanding why they work so well and what they offer to enhance a game,” he said.
Mika added: “In many ways, the games industry is waking up to what the web has offered for so long, and in doing so, it’s following some of the classic misconceptions.
“Just being where the action is doesn’t make you succeed. You need to integrate, understand, dissect. There’s no magic bullet.”

Dille: PS3 motion wand is a “prototype”

SCEA’s Peter Dille told Kotaku at E3 that, while he expects the press conference showing of the company’s PS3 motion tech to be indicative of the final product, what was shown is a “prototype”.
“We’re announcing the technology, not the product or game,” he said.
“He also wanted people to know the form factor of the wand is a prototype. I think it is representative of what the product will include. In other words, it will have buttons. It will have the ability to have a trigger if you’re having that style of game.”
No date, price or name was given to the motion system, which was shown to be based around the Eye camera and a wand.
