Rumour: NGP Holy Invasion of Privacy title in the works

20110210holyinvasion

The series formerly known as Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! (later retitled as What Did I Do To Deserve This, My Lord? and No Heroes Allowed!) may well be on its way to NGP, if we can believe a tweet from, uh, one of the game’s primary characters.

Five new Disgaea 3 Abscence of Justice screenshots

Over at IGN. Nippon Ichi’s RPG looks ok, we think, although not as many pixels and polygons that we’ve come to expect from current gen titles.

We suppose we’ll have to wait until 2009 to find out how it really looks.

Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice coming in 2009

Square Enix has announced that the PS3 exclusive, Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice will be released in PAL territories in 2009.

From the release:

Welcome to the twisted world of the Nether Institute, Evil Academy where good is bad and bad is good. In this school a good student is somebody that excels in delinquent activities such as skipping classes or not doing their homework, whereas a bad student arrives to school early and does their homework on time.

This is the setting for Disgaea 3, a rich and deep Strategic RPG that’s not afraid to display a very bizarre sense of humour. It’s a winning combination that will leave you laughing one minute and fighting cunning enemies the next. Where special attacks can deliver up to 100 million points worth of damage and the power of the PS3 is used to deliver 2D sprites, albeit lots of them!

Full thing after the drop.

The first 10 minutes of Disgaea 3

After the break. It’s amazing. Characters in the Japanese SRPG shout things like, “This is love! And justice!” The graphics looks the same as Afternoon of Darkness, we swear. We so want it. Watch: it’s in English. Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice is out on August 26 in the US.

Thanks, PS3F.

Disgaea 3: interview, screens movie

disgaea35.jpg

IGN’s just posted a ton of new stuff on Nippon Ichi PS3 SRPG Disgaea 3, including new shots, a translated interview and a trailer you can see after the break.

The interview begins with this gem of a quote from lead designer Masahiro Yamamoto, so you know all’s well: “I planned to make the story of Disgaea 3 as stupid as Disgaea 1 was, since Disgaea 2 was comparatively serious.”

The game’s coming out next year in the US, but still hasn’t been confirmed for Europe.

See for yourself.

Koei has “no idea” if Disgaea 3 will release in Europe

disgaea33.jpg

Following last night’s announcement that Nippon Ichi’s mega-hardcore RPG Disgaea 3 will release in the US for PS3, Koei UK – publisher of all Nippon Ichi titles in Europe – has confirmed there are no plans to bring the title out here as yet.

“There’s currently nothing,” said a spokesperson. “I don’t even know if we’ll publish it or not. It’s just been announced for the US at the moment. No, absolutely no idea at the moment, no.”

In case you didn’t get that, it means “no”.

Don’t be too amazed if this does turn up eventually, however. Koei has published plenty of Nippon Ichi’s RPGs in Europe previously, including Phantom Brave, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness for PSP and Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana.
