Rumour: Taiwanese Wii to be stripped bare
According to a rumour over at Gonintendo, Taiwanese Wii customers will not get the Forecast Channel, News Channel Channel, Internet Channel, Nintendo Channel, Everybody Votes Channel and Check Mii out Channel when the machine launches today.
They will however get the Wii Shop Channel – just not right away.
We’ve got no idea why they’re getting the “borked” version and and if we’re honest, we’re not sure they’ll miss all that stuff anyway.

Nintendo Channel launches in the US
The Nintendo Channel’s launches for Wii in the US. Don’t know what it is? It’s this:
Nintendo Channel is an interactive guide to what’s new in the world of Nintendo – now available for easy download from the Wii Shop Channel. Watch trailers, mini-documentaries, product demonstrations, and gameplay videos. Browse the game guide pages to get information about your favorite games on Wii and Nintendo DS. You can even click to order games straight from your Wii, if you have the Internet Channel installed. Make sure your Wii is connected to the internet, and get started!
This was supposed to be part of the US WiiWare launch on May 12, so it’s early doors for the service. We’ll have a look later and see if the magic’s happening in Europe yet. Our guess is “not”.
Thanks, Gaming Today.
