Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus screens show off Ryu’s moves
Koei Tecmo has released quite a few shots for its PS Vita version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus. Slated as a launch title for the US and Europe, the game lets players charge their ninpo and aim Ryu’s bow using the device’s touchscreen. Sounds rather interesting. Check out the screens over on Siliconera. Thanks, FeaturePreacher.

Ryu puts his Dragon Lineage to use in these bloody Ninja Gaiden 3 shots
Tecmo Koei has sent over 12 screenshots for Ninja Gaiden 3, showing Ryu dispatching enemies in a bloody fashion. There’s also a couple in there of his new ninpo, which allows him to turn into a fiery dragon. Nice. The game launches early next year for PS3 and 360. A Wii U version is also being developed.

Tecmo Koei president “interested” in Sony motion controls

Tecmo Koei president Kenji Matsubara has told Play that the company is interested in Sony’s motion technology for games like Ninja Gaiden, but more research is needed to see if it would be a proper fit.
“I’m very interested in the new motion-control technology announced at E3, but we really need to know how responsive it is,” said Matsubara. “I’m sure that for casual games these motion controls will be very popular, but for action games like Ninja Gaiden we need quick responses and if you’re swinging your arms around like you’re using a sword you will soon be tired.
“Maybe we have to change the playing style and check the technology to see how quick it can be. So, at first it will be casual games and then maybe hardcore games and we have to prepare for that and provide the games to satisfy that playing style.”

Koei and Tecmo plan to merge two titles into one game

Koei and Tecmo are planning to merge two popular titles together in order to appeal to “fans of both.”
No word on what the game is or what the two titles in question are, but it’s a sure thing according to the summer edition of Nikkei Corporate Information.
“Tecmo and Koei are combining titles to launch a new game”, reads the publication. “The aim is to bring in fans of both.”
The most popular franchises in the group are Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden and hack-and-slash Dynasty Warriors for Tecmo and Koei, respectively.

Itagaki-less Team Ninja in love with PS3, looking into Wii
Speaking with Gamasutra, Itagaki-successor Hitoshi Hasegawa and Ninja Gaiden Sigma director/former Itagaki-successor Yosuke Hayashi suffocated Sony’s next-gen competitor with smooches.
“The developers have been releasing products, but there is a bigger potential,” Hayashi said. “There is greater potential, and we see that possibility the most in the PlayStation 3. It’s going to be up to us developers and Sony to make sure that that does happen.”
“For any developer that’s been working on all of the platforms that are available today, I think they would agree that the PlayStation 3 is the most powerful system out there,” he added, also touting Sony’s top-notch developer support.
When the Wii’s turn came around, however, things were a little less cut-and-dry.
“Internally at the company, we have a lot of knowledge, and I think we’ve
mastered most of the components to make a very compelling and entertaining product using the console,” Hasegawa explained.
“We will continue to work in that path. We have a lot of Wii console fans within the company, so hopefully there’s something that we can work on.”

Ninja Gaiden doesn’t have the “power,” says DMC creator
Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya clearly doesn’t mince his words. He can’t be bothered playing Ninja Gaiden. It doesn’t have the power to interest him.
“I’ve never played Ninja Gaiden, and to be honest, I’m not that interested,” he said in the latest issue of EGM.
“The quality that gets you interested in something is that you feel something for them. Like on TV, or a movie, or a song, or whatever. You just feel something, and you get pulled into it, and then that’s how you pick something up.
“But Ninja Gaiden just didn’t have that power, so that’s why I wasn’t interested in it.”
Japanese developers, eh? Why can’t they all just get along?
Plenty more through there.
