Dark Souls dev’s Ninja Blade free on Green Man Gaming this weekend, plus more
Ninja Blade is among a list of free games being given away by Green Man Gaming and Playfire this weekend. It’s a truly bat-shit mental hack n’ slash game from Dark Souls developer From Software. It may not be the best brawler out there, but if you want a dose of fun with your gaming then you absolutely need to play it.

Western Ninja Blade demo – first 11 minutes in video

The western Ninja Blade demo’s to be released on March 9, but Microsoft let us have it yesterday, being the benevolent soul that it is. Find a grab of the first 11 minutes after the break, including half of a whopping boss battle. Be warned: we’re quite bad at it.
The From Software actioner bears more than a passing resemblance to Ninja Gaiden, but doesn’t appear to suffer from the same camera horrors, which is nice. And it looks amazing, to be fair.
There’s lots of QTE in there, though, as you’ll know if you had a waz on the Japanese demo at the end of last year.
Take a look. It’s out in Europe on April 3.

Ninja Blade for April 7 launch in UK, demo March 9

From’s Ninja Blade will launch in the UK on April 7, Microsoft confirmed today, following a demo release on May 9.
Apparently the demo “will provide players with an engaging first look into the world of Ken Ogawa and a chance to battle the monster horde before the game hits store shelves in April.”
It’s all you can hope for. After the break.

Asian Ninja Blade released in English, region-free

The Asian version of From Software’s Ninja Blade’s been released, says Siliconera, and it’s region-free. And in English.
You should, therefore, buy it. Don’t think. Thinking won’t get you anywhere. Buying Ninja Blade will.
Thanks, Kotaku.

Famitsu 360: Ninja Blade to get worldwide release plus other titbits [Update]
According to the latest issue of Famitsu 360, From Software’s Ninja Blade is set for a worldwide release.
Something must have got lost in Gaf‘s translation however, as that means it’s out tomorrow in Europe and the US tomorrow, which it clearly isn’t.
Other snippets show that a slim 360 could be in the works, the 360 version of the Dead Rising and Lost Planet sequels will have something extra, and Sega is planning some big titles other than Bayonetta for the console this year.
Also, as Blerk points out, Famitsu 360 reckons Persona 2 developer Atlus is developing for 360.
Update: Funnily enough, the Ninja Blade PAL box art has just been released which you can check out below. Maybe a surprise is in store after all?

New Ninja Blade video shows manic gameplay
After the break. It’s pretty poor quality, but that shouldn’t stop you getting an idea of the frenetic pace of From Software’s Ninja Gaiden-alike.
Looks totally mental to us, especially when your ninja dude is whizzing down a tunnel with more than healthy amounts of motion blur going on.
Ninja Blade is out in Japan on Xbox 360 29th January. Europe still TBC.
Check it out.

Ninja Blade gets shaky-cammed pre-TGS
After the break. Not being funny, but to say Ninja Gaiden was an “influence” on this is putting it mildly.
There are three videos there. The majority of the first one’s an inventory screen, from the look of it. The second one’s fighting. The third one’s the ninja sliding down the side of a building and fighting a massive spider while doing QTEs.
Seriously, his hat even looks the same. See for yourself. Thanks, Blerk.

Ninja Blade 12 hours long, demo being considered
IGN’s posted a chat with From Software producer Masanori Takeuchi about Ninja Blade, the 360 action title announced in Microsoft’s Japanese press conference this morning.
There’s quite a bit of detail in there: the playable ninja character’s called Ken, the game’s about 12 hours long and the team’s “definitely considering” a demo.
Fancy. Game’s out next spring.
