The NHL season finally started last week after months of feuding between players and team owner. Now that it’s kicked off, EA has released a new trailer to help get things moving along.

NHL 13 was released on the 11th September 2012 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, courtesy of Strategy Informer, who have the trailer available to watch.

EA Sports has updated NHL 13′s roster, adding duplicates of players who have moved into European leagues during an ongoing NHL lock out. Visit the publisher’s blog for a list of changes and a guide to moving the players across manually should your console be offline.

A NHL 13 PS3 bundle has been announced for Canada. To be made available on September 11, the bundle comes with a copy of NHL 13, a month trial of PlayStation Plus, and a 320GB PS3 system. It will run you $299.99, which saves you around $60 as opposed to purchasing each separately. NHL 13 hits September 11 in North America and September 13 in Europe for PS3 and Xbox 360.

NHL 13 will feature female athletes on the roster when EA releases it next month. The firm said its the “first time ever in a professional league simulation sports video game,” that women athletes will be featured. Former Team USA’s Angela Ruggiero will join former Team Canada’s Hayley Wickenheiser as playable athletes in the game. Female players were first added through the Be a Pro mode after a request from a 14-year-old female fan was emailed to the EA SPORTS development team. In addition to Olympic winning female players, NHL Hall of Famers Doug Gilmour, Jari Kurri, and NHL legend Dominik Hasek will also be added to the roster. NHL 13 hits September 11 in the US and September 13 in Europe for PS3 and Xbox 360.

EA Sports has announced an expansion of its Season Ticket deal. The cost of the annual subscription remains unchanged at $25 or 2000 MS Points, but will this year include 24 Premium Gold packs for each Ultimate Team mode in FIFA 13, Madden NFL 13 and NHL 13, plus yet-to-be detailed content for Tiger Woods 14 and NCAA Football 14. EA Sports has released a brand new trailer for NHL 13 and it shows some of the new features that the game will bring to the table. The trailer focuses on the game’s new true performance skating system and gives you a glimpse of how it will affect gameplay. The votes are in and counted; Claude Giroux will grace the cover of NHL 13. He’s a man who plays sports. Apparently he plays them pretty well; he is the “forward” for the Philadelphia Flyers. I have nothing to add to this information, but you can watch a video about it through the break.
