EA expects next-gen to be more cost effective thanks to its proprietary Frostbite engine
EA’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen has said next-gen will be a more cost effective transition for the firm, and part of this has to do with Frostbite being the firm’s proprietary engine.

Gabe Newell’s DICE 2013 talk covers cloud gaming, next-gen, and Steambox
Valve boss Gabe Newell gave a talk at DICE 2013 this week, and he said all sorts of lovely things like: the Steambox price point will be a much lower cost than many living-room devices; he talked about how he is skeptical of cloud gaming; how his vision for video games is a bit on the PC-fans side; and how the console transition is bad for gaming as a whole. Sleeping Dogs developer United Front hiring next-gen multiplayer programmers
Sleeping Dogs developer United Front is hiring network programmers in order to develop “multiplayer features of [its] next-gen console title”. The listing, spotted by NeoGAF and posted on OXM, reads: “We are looking for an experienced network programmer to work with our online team to develop the multiplayer features of our next-gen console title.” The position notes multiplayer experience is needed. Have look yourself and go ahead and start mulling around whether you you think it’s a sequel to Sleeping Dogs for Xbox 720 and PS4 or something else entirely.
