Wii U was laid bare by Nintendo yesterday, as the Japanese giant unveiled pricing and release date information for all regions, as well as a slew of software announcements and a handful of trailers. Some trailers are new, others were re-released by Nintendo last night.

Nintendo has revealed its first and third-party software line-up for Wii U in Japan. It includes known quantities such as Assassin’s Creed 3 and Mass Effect 3 and some previously unannounced titles in the form of Ninja Gaiden: Razor’s Edge and Bayonetta 2.

New Super Mario Bros. U may have the word ‘new’ in the title, but a fresh batch of screens from Nintendo show that the game’s stages closely follow some familiar levels from Super Mario World. Nostalgia fans can play ‘spot the reference’ below.

New Super Mario Bros. U is the main feature in the next issue of Game Informer. The site said the October issues is the first time in “16 years since our cover story has focused on one of [Mario's] adventures.” The magazine paid a visit to Nintendo of America to play the game, nabbed an extensive feature on Wii U, and also interviewed Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. The magazine’s website will also feature month-long extensive coverage of the game as well. The cover is posted below along with a short video. Nintendo announced New Super Mario Bros U during its E3 Press Conference. The game can be transferred from the TV to pad, and allows up to four players. It will integrate with MiiVerse as well, allowing users to play as their Mii characters. The game also introduces the new Boost Mode, which can be used to add blocks, to help players avoid enemies, enable Mario to discover secrets or allow multiple players working together to perform a speed run in record time.
