Neverwinter will have mounts. Shocking for an MMO, isn’t it? In all seriousness, we’ve been handed screens and a trailer featuring the mounts in the game, and as a mount collector myself, I find the horses to be rather lovely. I have no desire to ride a spider, even if it’s virtual. To each his own, though, and if you purchase the Hero of the North Founder’s Pack, you’ll get one. That would make Lolth proud. Have a look below. Game’s out sometime this year.

Neverwinter’s first closed beta event is going on right now, so Cryptic has decided to unveil a new character class called the Devoted Cleric. Better time as any, right? The character deals substantial holy damage, and can be used for party support with AoE attacks and single target powers. Check it out below.

Neverwinter screenshots have been released by Cyrptic along with a new developer blog. Both outline some of the character customization options related to armor and weapons in the game. It’s not always about looking cool or pretty you know, although that’s damn important too. The free-to-play action MMORPG based on the Dungeons and Dragons property is slated for release in early 2013.
