Neverwinter Nights 2 OS-X on sale for less than a buck
Obsidian’s classic RPG Neverwinter Nights 2 is on sale on the Mac App Store for 99 cents. That’s a very small amount of money for a highly rated RPG you can play on the office machines. You can grab it here. Neverwinter Nights 2 is the 2006 sequel to the BioWare original, and famously shipped with an extraordinary number of bugs. That’s all been patched to hell and back by now of course, and the game saw several expansions and eventual popularity.

NWN2 expansion Mysteries of Westagate expected “soon”

Atari finally appears to be moving towards releasing Ossian Studios’ digital expansion for Neverwinter Nights 2.
Mysteries of Westgate has been expected sinceĀ 2007. There’s no concrete date on when it’s to be made available, but Ossian’s Alan Miranda told the NWN2 official message boards to expect it “soon” today.
He added that the add-on has been given “the official Atari stamp of approval”.
Mysteries of Westgate will boast over 15 hours of non-linear single-player campaign, new music, four extra monsters, and fresh voice acting.

Obsidian CEO says company is “doing just fine” despite lay-off rumors

Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart has told Big Download, “We are doing just fine and do not have to shut down operations,” in response to lay-off rumors earlier this week.
After Sega suspended the firm’s Aliens RPG indefinitely, it was reported that over 20 staff members had been made redundant at Obsidian.
The rumor has still not been addressed on either side, but Urquhart did say that his company is hard at work on the development of Alpha Protocol and two other properties.
Alpha Protocol is to be published by Sega sometime this year, and it’s rumored that Obsidian is working on a third expansion for Neverwinter Nights 2.

New Atari games confirmed with financials
In Atari’s relentlessly bleak financials yesterday were a bunch of game confirmations we missed. Silly us.
Alone in the Dark will ship in this financial year, ending April 2009, as will a second Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion pack, which as yet has no name.
Also revealed was a game called Airborne Rangers, out next April for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
Other games included in the statement were aimed at the younger end of the markey, such as Panoramix Brain Trainer, Lucky Luke: Dalton, Hogs of War 2, Asterix at the Olympic Games, and My Horse & Me 2.

Best of PlayStation Network, Vol. 1 contains four games, releases in June
