Batman: Arkham City Lockdown now available for iDevices
Warner Bros. has announced that the Batman: Arkham City Lockdown is now available on the App Store, bringing the Arkham City franchise to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Developed by NetherRealm Studios, Lockdown features several of Gotham City criminals, including The Joker, Two-Face and Solomon Grundy, as well as iOS-exclusive character Deathstroke. Lockdown uses AirPlay, allowing players to stream their gameplay on their iPad2 or iPhone 4S to their HDTV using Apple TV. It is available for £3.49 from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Netherrealm Studios teasing “unexpected surprise”
Netherrealm boss and Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon is teasing an imminent reveal.
“Unexpected surprise from NetherRealm Studios coming…….?” he tweeted.
In response to queries, Boon said the surprise is not related to the latest Mortal Kombat game – and isn’t Grid 2, a flyball suggestion.

Freddy Krueger character vignette released for Mortal Kombat
NetherRealm has released a character vignette for the final Mortal Kombat DLC character, Freddy Krueger, which is live today on XBL and later this evening for US PSN users. UK gets it tomorrow. The video posted below the break, courtesy of Evil Avatar, presents a look into how Freddy became part Mortal Kombat. Turns out, he’s fighting in order to return to the dream realm from which he came, using his “demonic razor gloves” to take down anyone standing in his way. Nifty. Watch the video.

PSA: Rain DLC hits Mortal Kombat with klassic Jade and Kitana skins
Just a quick reminder that the Rain DLC for Mortal Kombat arrives on Xbox Live and US PSN today -UK will get it on PS3 tomorrow. Rain is the third of four downloadable warriors and comes with his own move set, an arcade ladder story ending, and two brutal fatalities – just like Skarlet and Kenshi before him. Rain is available on XBL for 400 MSP or as a part of the Season Pass program for $4.99/ £3.19/€3.95 on PSN. The DLC also comes with two klassic Mortal Kombat 2 skins inspired by Jade and Kitana.

Mortal Kombat’s newest warrior enters the arena today and while Kenshi may be blind, he can still find his opponents with ease, according to the folks over at NetherRealm Studios. Kenshi is now available for download on both PSN and XBL, and is the second of four new downloadable combatants with a unique move set, story and brutalities. Kenshi will run you 400 MSP or you can get him via the Season Pass program or for $4.99 on PSN. Additionally, available today is a free compatibility pack featuring two klassic skins: Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – inspired Noob Saibot and Smoke. Those in the UK and Europe will get Kenshi via the PSN update tomorrow.
