Video: New Tekken Tag Tournament 2 footage is silent, probably deadly
Tekken’s not a series that’s generally know for its subtlety – what with all its tiger-headed wrestlers and dinosaur people – but a new Tekken Tag Tournament 2 video released by series producer Katsuhiro Harada paints the series in a different light.
Well, ok, not really, but there’s no sound whatsoever. He shot the thing on his cell phone, you see, so it’s not exactly the next Dead Island. Even so, the game still manages to somehow look glorious – but that may just be our footage-starved eyes talking. They’re also telling us to kill. That’s normal, right? Check out the full thing after the break.

Dark Souls’ magic to let you transform into solid iron and… a vase?
No, Dark Souls won’t let you play as a Wonder Twin. This, you see, actually sounds pretty darn cool. Also, we’ve yet to see any purple spandex, which is always a plus.

Splatterhouse hitting shelves this Halloween

Candy? Costumes? Family friendly fun? Please.
Halloween’s about gore, killing, and paganism. Seriously, people. Satan is so disappointed. Hopefully, Namco Bandai’s Splatterhouse will be a sinew-snapping step in the right direction when it releases this Halloween.

Noby Noby Boy: Girl finally reaches Jupiter

Hey Noby Noby Boy… players (?), there’s now a new in-game area for you to play (?) in! Over the weekend, dedicated Noby Noby fans managed to pool their scores and stretch GIRL all the way to Jupiter – thanks in part to a tremendous length multiplier.
Huh? What’d we just say? Holy cow, we spoke in tongues! Neato!
Check out a video of colorful wriggly things partying it up on Jupiter after the break. Hm. Now we’re hungry for gummy worms.
Thanks, PSN Stores.

XSEED bringing Sky Crawlers to North America

Update: No word yet on a European release date. PR “isn’t sure what’s going on with European release at this time.” Bummer.
Sky Crawlers has been out for a bit in Japan, but for the rest of the world, playing the game has only been a pie-in-the-sky dream. Or, well, maybe pie that just fell on the ground, but only has a few hairs on it. Regardless, dream no more if you live in North America, because XSEED’s publishing the game.
Developed by Ace Combat pilots Project Aces, Sky Crawlers is due this holiday season. It’s about — what else — airplanes. You fly and shoot stuff using the Wii-mote and nunchuck. Should be good fun.
We’ve put in an email asking whether or not the game will be published in Europe, as XSEED only publishes games in North America. We’ll keep you posted.
Thanks, Joystiq.

Tekken 6 to empty wallets with £150 arcade stick bundle

No one ever said becoming King of the Iron Fist would be easy. On top of parting with copious amounts of blood, sweat, and tears, Namco Bandai’s now asking fans to bid farewell to £150.
For that price, you’ll nab a copy of Tekken 6, an art book, and a Hori Tekken arcade stick. And not just any Hori Tekken arcade stick, either — according to Namco Bandai, this thing’s “the best peripheral for any console.” Your hill of colorful plastic objects has a new king.
Or, if sleeping on park benches isn’t really your thing, there’s also the £70 collector’s edition. It comes with a copy of Tekken 6 and a hoodie designed by the game’s art team. Not quite an arcade stick, sure, but it’s still probably the best hoodie designed by Tekken 6′s art team. Probably.
So, which Tekken 6 SKU are you buying?
Thanks, CVG.

30th anniversary Gundam game announced for PS3

Given the choice between an 18-meter-tall, solid steel, mist-emitting statue carved in your image and a PS3 game, which would you rather receive as an anniversary gift? Well, if you’re the Gundam franchise, you’re getting both, which is really the only correct answer when faced with such a question.
Kotaku reports that the PS3 game in question will be titled Mobile Suit Gundam: Battlefield Record U.C.0081, and that it’ll allow up to eight players to both rock and sock each other with cold, metallic fists via PSN – but probably only after 25 minutes or so of expository dialogue.
The game currently has no release date, but is apparently 60 percent complete. We’re conservatively estimating that it’ll sell roughly a bajillion copies during its first week in Japan.

Namco Bandai registers EXCALIBUR trademark, hurts our eyes

According to a recently uncovered list of Japanese trademarks, Namco Bandai has laid claim to EXCALIBUR, ostensibly a videogame property about King Arthur’s loyal metallic wingman who – for obvious reasons (swords are cool) – ended up stealing the show.
We’d normally feel kind of sneaky reporting this, but we’re guessing Namco Bandai wanted everyone to know about its ownership of EXCALIBUR, or else the publisher wouldn’t have screamed right into our eyes with the title “EXCALIBUR.” Seriously guys, what’d we ever do to you?
Thanks, Joystiq.

While Nintendo Power recently confirmed the upcoming launch of Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World for US Wiis, there’s no such luck for Europe right now. A spokesperson told VG247 this week that there’s “nothing official or announced for UK right now”.
Yuk. If this matters to you, read a heap of details here (spoilers included) and plan on buying a US Wii, if you haven’t done already.
