Kinect anniversary video released, Windows SDK beta moves into phase two
Microsoft has released a video, which shows all the various ways Kinect is being used, or in the process of being used for. It’s to celebrate the device turning a year old. Also the Kinect for Windows SDK beta has moved to stage two which adds “faster skeletal tracking, a better accuracy rate when it comes to skeletal tracking and joint recognition, and the ability to plug and unplug your Kinect without losing work or productivity.” The commercial program’s still slated for an early 2012 launch. Microsoft UK to take new Kinect titles on the road
Microsoft is showing off a lot of their Kinect offerings to the public this week at the Eurogamer Expo, but if you can’t make it down there and want to try out Kinect’s latest they’ve just lifted the lid on a new road show which will see their major Kinect releases playable to the public in a variety of locations.

Dance Central almost had its own hardware
It’s hard to imagine that Dance Central was in development before Kinect was even announced, but Harmonix is now saying that the game was slated to have its own peripheral before Project Natal hit the scene.

Xbox 360 sells just 6,000 units in Japan
The Xbox 360′s troubles in Japan are obviously still continuing as Microsoft managed to sell just 6,000 units in all of Japan from May 16 to June 12.

After a strong 2010, Microsoft’s been eerily silent about what’s next for its old-but-not-over-the-hill box. Or at least, that’s been the case as far as games go.
