Mr Driller Online is a “laggy mess”
According to X3F, the Xbox Live release of Mr Driller Online is something of a disaster when it comes to multiplay, which is a little unfortunate given the game’s title. There’s a video through there showing fairly ably that it doesn’t work so well. 800 MS Points well-spent, there. Maybe we won’t bother after all.
Update: Oh dear. IGN’s given it 2.8.

Mr Driller Online now on Live
According to the Major, Mr Driller Online is now available on XBLA in lovely HD. It costs 800 MS Points and contains “mild fantasy violence”, which does it for us, frankly.
“[ESRB: E (EVERYONE) MILD FANTASY VIOLENCE] Single Player, Xbox LIVE Multiplayer 2-8, Local Multiplayer 2, HD (High Definition). The popular Mr. Driller series makes its debut on Xbox LIVE Arcade! Featuring an addictive single player mode, Online VS. play, simple controls and deep gameplay. For players of all ages and skill levels. This game requires the Xbox 360 hard drive or the 512MB Memory Unit for storage.”
Get it. Drill away.

XBLA Mr Driller Online dated for Japan
According to this, the XBLA version of Mr Driller will be released on April 2 in Japan. The Namco puzzler is too cute to not own, so hopefully we’ll be seeing a European launch date before too long.

First shots of Mr Driller online for XBLA
Here. As far as we’re aware, this is the first time the game’s been confirmed and given a solid title. It’s been known for a while it was coming thanks to an ERSB rating. IGN’s describing it thus: “Mr. Driller returns to drill down to the underground and save the day in this action puzzler for the XBLA.”
No release date as yet.
Update: Details here. It’s “spring” in Japan.
