Nintendo is offering 3DS owners the chance to pick-up a free game when they register three titles from a list of eight top releases. The promotion is aptly named, “So Many Games!”

High-street retailer GAME has become the first retailer in Europe to sell Nintendo’s eShop codes online and in stores. The retailer is selling a number of Wii U and 3DS titles through its website, with six Wii U titles ranging from Singstar at £32.99 to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge and New Super Mario Bros. U for £41.99.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate developer Capcom has released a Wii U patch that lets players hunt beasts on their GamePad controller only, and play with adventurers from other territories.

More news about people buying games instead of companies closing down because they don’t: according to a series of tweets from Nintendo Europe boss Satoru Shibata, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate stock is running low in PAL territory retailers. The executive said he expects more shipments in store for Wii U next week, and for 3DS by mid-April, and noted that eShop versions are available on both systems. The action RPG debuted close to the bottom of the UK charts this week.

Wii U console sales leapt 125% across the UK last week, according to retailers. The boost is thanks in part to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s release.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is supported by a 3DS app allowing players to transfer their progress back and forth with the Wii U version – cross-save, in other words. It was mysteriously absent on the 3DS eShop at launch, to the frothing outrage of some consumers.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is out today in North America and Friday in the UK, so Capcom has released a live-action launch trailer to get you pumped for the Wii U/3DS title. It’s below. Nintendo has updated its weekly, downloadable offerings for North America today, and this week you can pick up demos for HarmoKnight and Chasing Aurora and other goodies. Starting Monday, March 18 you can pick up LEGO City Undercover from the eShop and later on in the week on March 19 you can nab Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Need for Speed: Most Wanted U.

Monster Hunter is phenomenally popular in Japan but despite its rock-solid hardcore action and multiplayer push it’s never done quite as well overseas. Capcom is hoping to change that.
