Update: Kotaku‘s found a status message from one of the studio’s bosses Jason West from his Facebook. It says he’s no longer at Infinity Ward.
“Jason West is drinking. Also, no longer employed.”
Update 2: West’s LinkedIn also shows his role at IW as in his “Past” section, as seen here. Thanks, Psychotext.
Update 3: Oh boy. G4′s just updated its piece, saying Activision’s filed to the SEC citing a human resources investigation into “into breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward.”
“This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation. At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company.”
While neither are directly mentioned, it’s safe to assume it’d be about those two. And the formentioned meeting could have been about that. Find the SEC filing here. The mention is on page 131.
Original Story: According to a report from G4, security has shown up at Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward for what’s starting to look like very shady reasons.

A worthy winner of the “no shit Sherlock” tag, a story posted by Develop has Infinity Ward’s Rob Bowling saying Wii isn’t up to delivering tech parity with the likes of PS3 and 360.
“If we felt like we could deliver the cinematic experience we were going for on other platforms, then we would gladly move to that platform,” he said.
“Right now, we don’t think the Wii can deliver the exact experience that we’re doing. We like to be very equal across all platforms, and if it’s not equal then we won’t do it.”
Got a front page? Hold that sucker. More through there.

Infinity Ward bossman, Vince Zampella, has told the Official Playstation Magazine that originally, Activision did not want Call of Duty 4 to be a Modern Warfare and had been holding the reins on a more “modern” type of war experience for quite some time.
“With Call of Duty 2, we were dead set against it being World War 2,” said Zampella. “But Activision really wanted it, the compromise sort of being that we’d get some dev kits for consoles in exchange for doing a World War 2 game. We always wanted to be on consoles and Activision saw us as more of a PC developer.
“And something I’ll add to that, Activision also did not want Modern Warfare. They thought working on a modern game was risky and [thought], ‘oh my god you can’t do that, it’s crazy!’ They were doing market research to show us we were wrong the whole time.”
Of course, in the end, MW1 sold 14 million copies. So, there ya go.
