Modern Warfare 3 was back on top of the XBL Activity Charts after being ousted last time out by Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. The 360 version of the sandbox title was still the reigning champion on the Arcade Titles charts. Things may look a bit different next week, when the information on Halo 4′s launch week is revealed. Call of Duty Elite subscribers who activated their accounts on launch day, will be receiving an extra three months of service, and Activision email has stated. The extension is the firm’s way of apologizing for service outages at Modern Warfare 3′s launch. Initially, subscribers were to receive one moth free, but now they shall have three in total instead. Elite services will be offered for free when Black Ops 2 launches on November 13. Thanks, Shack.

Modern Warfare 3 Elite drops 22-24 are now available for PS3 Elite Premium players in the US. The drop includes multiplayer maps Gulch, Boardwalk, and Parish and will be available for those in the UK tomorrow via the usual PS Store update. Modern Warfare 3 Collection 4 will arrive on PC tomorrow, October 10, and includes the aforementioned maps as well as Off Shore and Decommission.

Modern Warfare 3 Collection 3: Chaos Pack is now available on Steam and PS3. The pack contains the Special Ops Chaos mode, four new Special Ops missions, and three Face Off maps for solo and co-op gameplay. The pack was made available on Xbox 360 and to Call of Duty Elite PS3 members last week.

Final Assault, Modern Warfare 3′s fourth and final DLC collection which includes Gulch, Decommission, Off Shore, Boardwalk and Parish will release for Elite Premium Members on Xbox 360 September 5. The DLC, which brings five multiplayer maps into the fray, will be available for purchase to everyone on Xbox 360 on September 6. Elite Premium Members on PS3 will receive Drops 19-21 (Light ‘Em Up, Special Delivery and Special Ops Chaos Mode) on September 6. A video for Final Assault is below.

Activision has released a set of screenshots for the July Modern Warfare 3 content drop, which will arrive on Xbox 360 July 17 for Elite Premium members. Premium Elite members will receive four exclusive drops on Tuesday, July 17, including three multiplayer maps and a Special Ops mission. Terminal is available to download next Tuesday, July 17. Non-ELITE Premium members on the Xbox 360 will receive Terminal free a day later on Wednesday, July 18. PS3 Elite Premium members will also see four content pieces in July, with three Face Off maps and a Special Ops mission releasing on July 19. Consolidate, the Swedish eSports event, has added Modern Warfare 3 to the event alongside previously announced titles Gears of War 3, Super Street Fighter IV and FIFA 12. Prizes include items from Plantronics, as well as 15,000 SEK in prize money to be shared with the winners in the individual games. Infinity Ward has announced the MW2 Terminal map releasing for Modern Warfare 3 will arrive on Xbox 360 July 17 for Elite members, and on July 18 for non-Elite users. The PC and PS3 dates are to be announced at a later date. Terminal, which was rumored for an impending release back in June, is a fan favorite map which will be released for free. The map is not part of the MW3 content calendar, which is why it isn’t showing at the moment.

Throughout July, a huge pile of Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 DLC is on sale at 50% off. Even better, if you take the opportunity to pick up some DLC on the cheap, Activision Blizzard will send a whack of the cash to Call of Duty Endowment, a not-for-profit veteran support agency. The promotion covers PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, although please note that the sale won’t arrive on the European PSN until July 4.

The second Modern Warfare 3 DLC Collection has launched on Steam and PC. It includes three multiplayer maps, two Special Ops Missions, and the debut of Face Off maps. It was released through PSN via usual store update this week.
