First MLG League of Legends Arena going on this weekend
Yesterday marked the start of the first Major League Gaming’s Summer League of Legends Arena in new York City, and more rounds continue today, starting at 2.00pm EDT. The first match, will take place between Europeans Team Black and the Koran team, Azubu Blaze, and the second match starts at 4.30pm between the North American teams Curse vs. SoloMid. Tomorrow, August 5, Azubu Blaze vs Curse takes place at 10.00am, while the SoloMid vs Black match will start at 12.30pm. The final will take place at 3.00pm, and the winning team in the final will walk home with $10,000. You can watch it live here.

MLG and KeSPA announce multi-year, exclusive StarCraft partnership
Major League Gaming and the Korean eSports Association have announced an exclusive multi-year global partnership which will merge the western and Korean StarCraft competitions. As part of the collaboration, KeSPA players will compete in US MLG events for the first time in eSports history. The partnership kicks off during the MLG Spring Championship in Anaheim, CA on June 9 where KeSPA Pro players will compete in a StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty tournament. Participants from the top KeSPA teams will be selected and are to be announced in the coming weeks. The exposition match and the entire Spring Championship will be broadcast live online via MLG. Starhawk map packs to be free, MLG tournament announced
With Starkhawk out today in North America, Sony and Lightbox Interactive has used the opportunity to announce a Major League Gaming tournament worth $20,000 in prizes. It was also announced that all map packs for Starhawk will be free upon release, and the fist one is already in the works. MLG Spring Championship attendees get a beta sneak peek of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm
Blizzard has announced it will offer a beta sneak peek of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm to those attending Major League Gaming’s Pro Circuit Spring Championship event. Taking place June 8-10 at the Anaheim Convention Center, public demo stations will allow attendees to try out the latest multiplayer build of the upcoming beta test. During the event, StarCraft II pro-gamers will battle for $76,000 in prize money with the first place finisher taking home $25,000. In addition, the USA national finals for the StarCraft II World Championship Series will take place. Participants will be competing for $30,000 as well as invitations to the North America continental finals. MLG – Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur V competitions air April 28
Major League Gaming has announced Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur V players will be competing live on April 28 in the Fighting Game Arena, during which 16 players will vie for a position in the top eight and $3,400 in prizes. The competition will be broadcast live online from 2.00-9.45pm EDT through the MLG website. Following the Arena, the season will culminate with the Spring Championship June 8-10 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Here, top gamers will compete playing Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur V, and King of Fighters XIII on PS3. Format details, prizing, rules and competition formats for each game will be announced in the coming weeks.
