Majore League Gaming has partnered with Korean broadcaster and eSports league OnGameNet to host a special League of Legends qualifier. Seven Korean teams will compete for just one spot in the $15,000 International Exhibition at MLG’s Winter Championship. The qualifier will be broadcast from March 4 from at 3:00PM ET. The Winter Championship takes place in Dallas from March 15-17 and will host three League of Legends events with a total prize pool of $45,000. PlanetSide 2 will be coming to Major League Gaming with more news to be announced “in the coming weeks.” SOE and MLG are currently in the process of creating “ideal competitive gameplay features and settings,” for competitors complete with original programming. A broadcast schedule will be announced over the course of the next few weeks, along with further details. Quantic Gaming, the North American esSports team, has disbanded after investors pulled funding, according to team member Rod Breslau. It was said neither “players nor staff knew about it beforehand.” The eSpots team had at least a dozen players or more assigned to its StarCraft 2, Call of Duty, and League of Legends teams. Breslau said some the affected players were already talking with other North America teams. Quantic Gaming formed in 2010 and won five Major League Gaming events. Via Gamespot.
