Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is heading to European retailers next month. Microsoft has just confirmed the game’s physical disc release.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition was expected to be released on disc April 30, but it has been delayed to June 4 according to Major Nelson. The tweet he posted said the reason for the delay was to “include the very latest content.” The disc version was to include Update 9 which was recently released, and it wasn’t said whether the delay was to include Update 10 which is in the works now. We’ll let you know when we hear more about it.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition players have played the game for over one billion hours. The figure was announced via playXBLA. Update 10 for the game is currently in testing, so surely it won’t be long before that figure is surpassed.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 edition has shifted over 6 million copies since its console debut in May 2012, according to a tweet from developer 4J studios. The core version of Minecraft has been purchased over 9 million times, and total sales across all systems was over 20 million in January.

Mojang has announced more sales figures for the Minecraft franchise, by stating that Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition hit the 5 million sold mark on December 31. The news was announced via Twitter by the firm’s Daniel Kaplan. Yesterday, Markus Persson stated the series sold 453,000 copies across all platforms on December 25, 2012, bringing the grand total to 18 million across all platforms.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition’s Update 7 will introduce a number of much-requested features found in the PC version, some of which don’t start with “B”.

Those who purchased the Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition Halloween Skin Pack helped raise $770,448 which was donated to four charities. The charities are: Block by Block, SANDS Lothians, Child’s Play, and Macmillan Cancer Support. The pack was available through November 26 on XBL Arcade.

Additions to Minecraft for Xbox 360 in the Title Update 7 have been revealed as well as the news that “The End” sequence will be delivered in Title Update 8.

Half-Life and Awesomenauts skins will be included in Skin Pack 3 for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. According to playxbla, the pack is listed “coming soon”, but in lieu of a date, the blog posted shots of the skins to keep you placated.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition has sold over 3.6 million copies, Mojang business developer Daniel Kaplan revealed on Twitter. It’s an unusual milestone to report on; Kaplan mantioned the figure because he’s apparently just returned from a break. The port was released in May and hit 3 million sales by June; earlier this month, it was still shifting 17,000 copies a day and remains high on the Xbox Live Activity charts. The PC version has sold over 7 million copies.

A skin pack for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft is expected shortly, and will bundle 40 outfits including a Covenant Grunt, ‘Splosion Man, and a bike from Trials. Skins will be supported in Minecraft Xbox 360 available once patch 1.73 goes live; the update is in certification and expected to arrive before the end of next week.
