Crowdfunding for Mega Man spiritual successor Mighty No. 9 has ended, with a cumulative total of over $4 million raised.

Mighty No.9 has been confirmed for PS4, Xbox One, Vita and 3DS. The next goal is for $3.7 million which will add a single-player call stage and boss. With 10 days left on the counter, 59,108 backers have pledged $3,397,115 to the Comcept project which was initially slated for PC barring stretch goals being met.

Keiji Inafune’s Mighty No.9 has announced a PS Vita stretch goal, as Sony’s Shahid Ahmad stated earlier at the EG Expo. Ahmad’s role is chiefly to bring indie games onto Sony’s handheld, and the spiritual successor to Mega Man will be a great addition.

Having stormed to most of its Kickstarter goals, Might No. 9, Keiji Inafune’s spiritual successor to Mega Man is firmly in production, and now there’s a documentary episode to prove it. 2 Player Production’s has planned three featurettes that document the making of the game. This is more of a prelude, as it’s labelled as episode 0.

The Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter has just been updated with a bunch of new stretch goals, including ports to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, should the project reach the $3.3 million it’s well on its way to. Comcept also announced a variety of challenge mods I’ll detail after the break and online co-op.

Mighty No. 9 stretch goals have been switched a bit in order to focus on funding for consoles. According to an update on the game’s Kickstarter page, Comcept boss Keiji Inafune said the team realized the other stretch goals planned “would be more welcome” after prioritizing release formats.
