A class action lawsuit against Microsoft has been filed in Philadelphia over the MS Points system used in Games For Windows Live Marketplace.
Apparently, excess points left over after purchasing items cannot be used.

Microsoft’s come clean about its rewards program, as you can see here. Basically, you get MSP for doing anything remotely useful to Microsoft.
Every time you renew your Live sub you get free points. Amazing, right? It’s only in the preview stage as yet, but free is free. No date on it going Live-wide.

According to this CVG story, Coca-Cola’s giving away $37,000 (£25,000) in MS Points on Live this week.
Yep: they’re free.
The partnership will see three million Points given away via a Happiness Factory promotion on Xbox Live.
Apparently you need to register on a Coke Zone site, or something.

Microsoft is giving people the chance of winning 500,000 MS Points with the “Download and Win” competition which runs from 06:01 PST on November 19 – NXE launch day – to 23:59 PST on November 23.
To enter, all you have to do is download some content from the following categories on Xbox Live during the period:
- TV Show
- Full Arcade Game
- Xbox Originals Game
- Game Add-On
- Music Video
The Prizes include:
- One Grand Prize of 500,000 MS Points
- Five 1st Prizes of 50,000 MS Points
- Ten 2nd Prizes of 10,000 MS Points
- Thirty 3rd Prizes of 5,000 MS Points
Judging by the time zones we’re guessing this is US only. We’ll check with MS UK first thing Monday.

According to this Wired report, Microsoft’s is to make Live points available through mobile phones in Japan via provider NTT DoCoMo.
The service is going live on May 26, early next week. Charge for the points is added straight to customers’ phone bills, apparently.
