The Metro series looks set to continue, as publisher Deep Silver says the most recent game Last Light was ‘positive experience.’ They say they want subsequent entries to appeal to a wider range of players.

Metro 2033 domains listed on THQ’s nameservers and a listing on The CDR suggest the publisher may be giving away the game for free as a Metro: Last Light pre-order incentive.

Metro 2033, the grim post-apocalyptic shooter from 4A Games is going half price on Xbox Live for one week only starting October 16th. The game’s sequel, Metro: Last Light is out in 2013, and is looking rather tasty.

Metro 2033 film rights have been acquired by MGM. Granted the rights are for the sc-fi novel written by Dmitri Glukhovsky, but still, it was turned into a game by 4A and the sequel, Metro: last Light is in the works for 2013. F. Scott Frazier will write the script and it will be produced by Mark Johnson (“The Chronicles of Narnia”). Via Hollywood Reporter.

THQ’s Danny Bilson has admitted the firm didn’t market or support product development of last year’s Metro 2033 as much as it should have, but the firm plans to do a better job of things with Metro 2034.
