Nintendo has updated its eShop, DSiWare and Virtual Console offerings, and along with the previously reported availability of Hulu Plus, there’s also the highly-anticipated demo of Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D available on 3DS this week. Also, SEGA Genesis fans might want to check out Strider through Wii’s Virtual Console today too, and the first Ambassador game for North America hits today with the release of Super Mario Bros. NES. According to Siliconera‘s translation of a Game Watch report, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is not a port or an HD brush up. Not only has the game been entirely remade, it’s been optimised for the 3DS hardware. Nice. Snake Eater 3D hits Japan on March 8; Western release is not locked down beyond early 2012.

According to an IGN report, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D will launch with a 4Gb card, double the size of a standard 2Gb cart for 3DS. And that’s it.
