Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain extended E3 trailer released
The extended cut of the Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain trailer shown during the Microsoft E3 conference last night has been released by Konami. Watch it in all its glory below. MGS5 will be released on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and is still without a release date.

Metal Gear Solid 5 and its open world releasing on Xbox One
The Microsoft Xbox One E3 press conference started off with a video for Metal Gear Solid 5. Showing Snake in Afghanistan traversing through an open world. It promises the “next generation of stealth”; dynamic CQC and it the video showed new characters in the game all to a tune which sounded straight from a James Bond film. There’s a tag line in it about men becoming demons, and there looks to be African kids trapped in a jail holding out diamonds in their hands. We’ll have the video up as soon as we get it. Kojima cam out on stage to talk about showing more later. A release date has yet to be announced.

Metal Gear Solid 5 creator Hideo Kojima bloody loves Twitter doesn’t he? Well, he’s up to his snap-happy ways again, as he’s just posted a teaser photo from the game’s E3 2013 trailer, and it looks an awful lot like the X-Ray injury mechanic from Metal Gear Solid 3.

Konami posts FY13 financial results, to “promote Metal Gear” series at E3
Konami has posted its financial results for the year ending March 31, 2013 posting an overall decrease in net revenues of 15% year-over-year to ¥2.3 billion ($23 million). However, its Digital Entertainment division posted an increase of 17.1% year-over- year of ¥1.5 billion ($15 million) compared to ¥1.2 billion ($12 million) the prior year.

An actor is going to appear in Metal Gear Solid 5 as “the one you thought I would be from the start”, apparently. If this were any other game, I’d probably bury this story in so much salt just looking at it would close your arteries.

David Hayter says he was not asked to be in Metal Gear Solid 5
Well, this is certainly interesting. After watching the trailer and gameplay demo for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain earlier today, I thought it was strange that Snake (Big Boss, it would appear) did not speak at all. David Hayter, previous voice for Snakes both Solid and Naked, went to Twitter to say he “had a good run.”

The Phantom Pain is Metal Gear Solid 5
The Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes panel at GDC, it was revealed that the mysterious title shown at the Spike VGAs last year is indeed a Kojima game, and is in fact the subtitle for Metal Gear Solid V. Watch this post about the panel for updates.

The Phantom Pain was the mysterious ‘new’ game unveiled at the VGAs over the weekend. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that it’s actually either Metal Gear Solid 5 or Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.
