Media Molecule website teases secret new project
LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule has a page labelled “?” in the Games section of its website, which quite charmingly plays Toyah’s Mystery when accessed. Although as GamingEverything points out the tease has been there for some time, I wonder if there’s any reason to suspect we might see a new game announce from the Sony-owned developer soon? “But Brenna,” I hear you say, “Media Molecule is hard at work on Vita title Tearaway.” Indeed it is, but Tearaway has its own, separate section on the site; the mystery only deepens.

LittleBigPlanet Karting’s story mode trailered
LittleBigPlanet Karting will contain a story mode, that features Sackboy racing against The Hoard. The bad guys are planning to steal Craftworld’s prizes for “no reason other than to hoard them.” The nerve! In the game, players will hop into a kart in order to reclaim the stolen prizes. LittleBigPlanet Vita has gone gold
After showing up in playable form at every Vita event since the console’s reveal, LittleBigPlanet is finally ready for release. A post on the US PS Blog announced the portable incarnation has gone gold ahead of its September 25 launch. Pre-order to receive one or more bonus costumes, depending on retail offer, including a pretty awesome BioShock effort. DLC costumes will be cross-platform compatible between three three current version of the platformer – LittleBigPlanet 2, Vita and Karting.

Sony details plans for gamescom panel
Sony has provided more details on its gamescom presence, starting with its press conference which kicks off at 7.00pm CET/6.00pm BST on August 14. It will be streamed live from the PlayStation Blog. A panel discussion will also take place, the topic being “games as art”, and it will include: SCWW president Shuhei Yoshida, Ian Dallas, co-founder of Giant Sparrow, Kellee Santiago, co-founder of thatgamecompany, Alex Evans, co-founder of Media Molecule, Adam Volker from Moonbot Studio, and a special guest “working on a currently unannounced project.” The panel will be streamed live as well. Gamescom runs August 15-19.
