Borderlands 2 DLC is on the way next month with the release of the Mechromancer character, and Gearbox president Randy Pitchford has said more characters are planned providing the Mechromancer is a hit with fans.

Borderlands 2′s Mechromancer character will go by the name of Gaige, and she will be able to summon a robot to tank her enemies. The girl has a robot arm which controls said tanking robot. The Mechromancer DLC will released on October 16 for $9.99/£7.99/800 MS Points for those who aren’t part of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club which you become part of when pre-ordering the game. Borderlands 2′s fifth character class, the Mechromancer, is available free to anyone who pre-orders the game ahead of its September 21 release in Europe. Anyone not pre-ordering will have to wait 60 days for the DLC to appear online before buying.
