Amazon has a really good deal going on at the moment if you are in the market for Max Payne 3 on PS3 or Xbox 360. Rockstar has released the trailer for the Local Justice DLC for Max Payne 3. The pack includes three new maps for the multiplayer featuring areas from the game’s final chapters, plus a new weapon, a new item, a new multiplayer faction and new Achievements, Trophies or Social Club accomplishments. It releases on July 3 for PSN and XBL. PC users will get it July 17. Watch it below.

Amazon’s listing Max Payne 3 for $40 instead of the usual $60 today, as part of its Gold Box promos. Spider-Man: Edge of Time’s also been cut, down from $30 to $10. Both are the 360 versions. Buy, America.

Cowen analyst Doug Creutz has said Diablo III sold 1 million units at retail during May in the US. Citing NPD figures, Creutz said Max Payne 3 and Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier both sold 400,000 units each, which is 200,000 units below what the firm estimated for each title. Despite the lower than predicted sales, both titles were the best-selling console titles at retail for the month. Thanks, Gamasutra.

Rockstar Newswire heralds the imminent arrival of the next issue of the Max Payne 3 comic; Hoboken Blues releases on June 12. the comic mini-series was written by Rockstar’s written by Dan Houser and Remedy’s Sam Lake, and covers events from throughout the franchise’s timeline, including Payne’s past.

A patch has been released for the PC version of Max Payne 3 to address a selection of the most commonly reported issues.

The PC version of Max Payne 3 will ship on four DVDs, according to the Indian distributor of the game, E-Xpress. The multiple discs will require users to have 35GB minimum of storage left on their systems. The Xbox 360 version shipped on two discs, while the PS3 version shipped on one Blu-ray. Rockstar’s released the first DLC pack for Max Payne 3 for free, known as the Gorilla Warfare pack. The pack will come with a gorilla mask that’ll come with extra adrenaline for melee kills from behind, the lucky coin that gives players extra goods when looting dead bodies and the booby trap, which has dead corpses explode when being looted. The pack’s out now for free on PSN and XBL.

Max Payne 3 is out now on PS3 and 360 in the US. It launches in Europe and the UK tomorrow. Hopefully more to come on MP3 today.
