Watch Max Payne shoot a rather sexy pistol in the video and screenshots below the break. Both feature the 1911 semi-automatic making its return in Max Payne 3. The pistol features “machine-gun like firing rates,” plus the ability to dual-wield thanks to being light-weight despite its large frame. Considering the pistol is a .45, it packs enough oomph to put large holes in your enemies torso so expect them to bleed – a lot. If you head on over to the game’s website, you can view 360 renders of the weapon.

Max Payne 3′s Cemetery multiplayer map will be exclusive to GAME and Gamestation, according to the retailer. In order to acquire said map, you will need to pre-order the title in-store or online. Various GAME store will also be hosting midnight launch events for Max, which lands in the UK May 18. Thanks, Eurogamer.

Rockstar has released the TV spot for Max Payne 3 which aired during the Lakers vs Spurs game last night on ESPN. It’s below. The studio has also released a new selection of Action Series digital desktops, backgrounds, and other media shots for the game. We’ve posted the wallpapers below as well. Rockstar has announced a three-part original Max Payne 3 comic series will be released as a graphic novel and in limited print editions. It was created with Rockstar Games in collaboration with Marvel Custom Solutions and written by Rockstar’s Dan Houser and Remedy’s Sam Lake. Cover art was created by Greg Horn with pencils and inks by Fernando Blanco. The series will “delve into” Max’s troubled past through both Max Payne and Max Payne 2, leading up to Max Payne 3. It will also shed some light on his early years. Issue number one After the Fall will be released “in the next few weeks” for free via the Rockstar Newswire, the official Max Payne 3 website and additional digital comic channels.

Rockstar has released a new entry into its Design and Technology Series video series, detailing the its evolution for Max Payne 3, its impact on “gunplay, shootdodging and player-controlled final-kill cams.” The latest video focuses on Bullet Time, and it’s posted below.
