Steam’s weekend deals have kicked off today, and there are a couple good ones. First, Football Manager 2013 is 50 percent off, and then the entire Max Payne franchise is two-thirds off, bringing Max Payne 3 down to about $13. Both deals last until Monday.

Holy moly, that’s a lot of XP; Rockstar is offering you triple rewards when you log into Red Dead Redemption or Max Payne 3′s multiplayer this weekend. The special offer will continue right through to Monday, US time, which is just about long enough to completely conquer both games if you’re efficient and don’t sleep much. The Painful Memories Pack for Max Payne 3, is now available for download PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 Rockstar has announced. European players can expect the DLC to land on the PSN service tomorrow via the usual update. Painful Memories includes four new maps for multiplayer, the IMG5.56 and UAR-21 assault rifles, new avatars, items, and the Hangover Burst, which temporarily causes enemies to respawn with blurred vision and reduced stamina and health. It will run you $9.99/800 MS Points.

Max Payne 3 is taking part in the Halloween festivities by adding spooky masks into the multiplayer mix.

The US PS Blog has released its usual update on what’s headed to PS Plus members this week, with the answer being “quite a lot”. Members will receive Scott Pilgrim vs the World and Double Dragon Neon at no additional cost, plus early access to Jet Set Radio, and a discount on a Max Payne 3 and all DLC bundle. The US Plus section should update along side the general Store refresh on Tuesday.

Max Payne has been patched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The automatically applied title update addresses a number of bugs and issues, but also adds a Multiplayer Player Card system and automated cheat protection and lag protection measures. It also sets up Payne Thresholds, a new XP-boosting system which will go live when Disorganised Crime, the shooter’s latest DLC pack, arrives on August 28. Full patch notes are available here.

Rockstar has announced the upcoming free Disorganized Crime Pack DLC for Max Payne 3 will arrive on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 next week. The Disorganized Crime Pack includes the Hoboken Rooftops multiplayer map, new modifiers for Score Attack in Arcade Mode including Explosive Rounds, Lone Wolf AI, Headshots Only mode, and a new Noir Mode, which lets you play through the single-player campaign in black & white noir. Max Payne 3 – Disorganized Crime releases August 28.
